    A Marriage Boot Camp Review

For years, Marriage Boot Camp have portrayed bridezillas driving people insane with their desire to have the perfect wedding, ready to pull out all the stops. But what many viewers don't realize is what happens after the wedding is over. This documentary series shows the true experience of the newly weds, showing them going through a very stressful process that often leaves the newlyweds with nothing more than broken hearts and a damaged reputation.

    Marriage Boot Camp

The series consists of five former bridezilla's who, with their new husbands, are now living in a small house as a single family to try to salvage their troubled relationships. The couples go through a two week marriage boot camp run by David and Elizabeth Catsela, a couple-and-together marriage counseling team. Throughout the two months, the Catselsa's and other counselors Dana Hamman and Jim Carroll put the newlyweds through a series of progressive, practical exercises and games to determine what exactly is causing problems within their marriages. When bootcamp ends, the newlyweds are confronted with the final decision: stay married or just throw in the towel?

I found this documentary series incredibly touching and relatable, which is why I was so sad when it ended; I felt like all my hard work had gone down the drain because this was exactly what I had gone through when it came to my relationship. It was also a very enlightening look into what it would be like to be a single person, to be married, and how different it would be than living with someone you hardly know. It is no secret that married women have a lot to deal with and sometimes it can seem like life has no meaning anymore. Marriage Boot Camp showed me that there were still things about being single that I hadn't learned.

David Catlea and Jim Carroll were able to portray the challenges of being married in a very honest and positive way, so that everyone can understand what life has to offer. I think they have done a great job. They were able to present each bridezilla's situation with the utmost sensitivity, making it easy to relate to the characters and understand how they felt about it.

Another thing I liked about Marriage Boot Camp was that each bridezilla's story was different, so it wasn't a typical story, which I appreciated. This gives each character a unique personality, allowing for an actual emotional roller coaster ride as the series went on. As the episodes went on, David and Jim slowly revealed the secrets of each bridezilla's story, giving more insight into their individual emotions. It is always good to see the honest reactions that the guests are giving, but the show sometimes veers away from the truth to get to the heart of things. But overall, it was really great to see the inside scoop on each bridezilla's situation.

Jim Carroll and David Catlea really got into the nitty gritty of each couple and were able to provide a more personal account of their lives. As you can imagine, they had to share their thoughts and feelings about their situations. What was very interesting to me was that they were able to make it feel very real.

In addition, each couple was exposed to a few "hilarious" scenarios, such as when the groom came to pick up his bridezilla but realized that she didn't actually want a divorce! He thought he was just going to leave her in the car but she grabbed his arm and forced him to drive! She then realized that she didn't want a divorce and asked for his forgiveness. Finally, they had to face some of their worst fears at the boot camp! One such fear was when one bridezilla's husband asked her if she was scared at night, and she replied, "Oh god, yes." Then, they had to go to a dentist and have their teeth cleaned; the groom was in tears because he had to ask her to marry him because he was afraid that she wouldn't remember to take her medicine.

I have always thought that marriage Boot Camp was one of those shows that could change your life, if you let it. It can teach you a lot about yourself and your future. It was so interesting to see that each of these brides and grooms found a new perspective, a new set of friends and a new level of understanding on what it means to be a married woman. And the funny thing is, once I was done with the program, I wanted to go back to the boot camp!
